Cinema For Peace Gala presented by Opel Project Earth
At 2011s Cinema for Peace Gala the long standing company Opel introduced "Project Earth".
The expedition was the hightlight during the gala event at the Berlin concert house as well as during the press conference and enjoyed great popularity by media representatives and the honored guests Sean Penn and Bob Geldorf. The patron of this Project is none other than the charismatic Dr. Buzz Aldrin - space travel legend and NASA scientist, astronaut of the legendary lunar mission Apollo 11 and one of the only twelve people, which set foot on the moon.
The Opel Project Earth is an initiative to support outstanding foundations, which are dedicated to the preservation of endangered biospheres and ecosystems in the arctic, the pacific, the amazonas and the savanna. Alain Visser, Vice President Sales/Marketing & Aftersales of the Adam Opel AG pointed out: "With the Project Earth Opel emphasizes its acknowledgement to social responsibility and makes an active contribution to the preservation of the environment." Opel will take selected student scientists to four fragile but beautiful regions of the world to visit local organizations, which work to protect endangered habitats and assist the scientists in their activities.
The expedition, which will take place in June 2011, was developed by the Welldone Agency and Opel.
