Opel Project Earth
An expedition to four of the worlds most endangered climate zones to visualize the biggest threat for nature: the impact of climate change!
Project Earth will enable young scientists to visualize the biggest threat for nature - the impact of climate change. The Project Earth Expedition visited and explored four endangered ecosystems, which are particularly important for the world¢s climate as the arctic, the ocean, the rainforest and the savanna.
In cooperation with environmental protection organizations such as the WWF Arctic Program, the Jane Goodall Institute, The Cousteau Society and the Rainforest Foundation US the first expedition was in mid July 2011, which explored a national park in Africa, the Arctic, the Gulf of Mexico and the rainforest in Panama. Celebrities such as Apollo 11 astronaut Dr. Buzz Aldrin and pop star Katie Melua supported Project Earth, introduced the project to the public and personally supported the expedition.
